Dedicated Private Cloud
You don’t need to do anything to operate or maintain your search solution: we guarantee sufficient performance, scalability and security backup.
The solution is operated through a Dedicated Private Cloud: the cloud provides dedicated servers of up to 2 Hexa-Core CPUs and 48 GB Ram. These servers in turn run virtual machines (VMware vSphere 4 Enterprise Plus) with dedicated, secure resources.
Automatic failover mechanisms on the virtual servers provide for, among other things, that in the event of an ESX server crashing, the virtual machines can be restarted within seconds on another ESX server. Furthermore, additional virtual servers can either be started from scratch, or the current servers scaled up as desired, in a blink of an eye.
Search solution architecture
The search solution uses an Apache Solr core to manage the search indexes, as well as the actual search operation.
Updating of the Solr Index is done by the Searchperience Crawler, which regularly scans your pages, carries out in-depth evaluation and analyses and prepares documents for the search index.
The appearance of search masks and the actual presentation of the results are both managed by the Searchperience Presenter. The presenter is embedded into a Content-Management-System enabling flexible layouts. It also coordinates the presentation of targeted results and various other features.
